It has been 20 years since we started the re-created Noble 24th, and I still remember the day when I called the true regiment in England and asked the colonel permission to reform the 24th as it was in 1777, His response was "Now, that would be lovely". It has been a marvelous years of re-creating one Britain's great regiments with some of the finest people on this earth and traveling up and down the original 13 colonies demonstrating life as a British soldier during the War of American Independence andI'm looking forward to the next 20 years. I hope you will visit one of this season's events and wish us a happy anniversary. Cheers and God Save the King!
The 24th returned to defend the Brimstone Fortress on the island of St Kitts and what can you say when you do an event in the Caribbean, “yo man, what a lovely time!”. We where joined by a follow comrades of the Kings army from the 16th, 23d, 29th and 64th to recreate the siege of Brimstone in 1782 where for a brief time the French was able to capture the fort. The battles where efficient as we had to split the Crown forces into two to portray the French. The evenings where filled with laughter and rum punch with a match of cricket against St Kitts army in between. All in all a wonderful place to be, we meet such wonderful people when we took the town and beach on our free day. I highly recommend you to visit this blossoming island even if you are not wearing a wool uniform of the 24th.
